Byron, Illinois Cake Smash Session

This in home cake smash session was a real treat! We had our session just a week before sweet girl’s first birthday. She was the absolute best model, letting me grab tons of portraits before we even brought out the cake. When we did set the cake in front of her, she immediately knocked it off the cake stand and went to town! I love capturing shots of baby putting their face directly into the cake- it’s definitely a parent favorite! She was so sweet and kept glancing at mom and dad to see if they were really going to allow her to continue on with her mess-making. She soon lost interest in eating the cake, but continued to smash it to smithereens, which makes for the best photos! What’s funny about cake smash sessions is that all babies react to the cake so differently. I think the best part is just watching what the baby do whatever they want!
