The safety of your newborn is my biggest priority. I understand that, as your newborn photographer, I am often one of the first people outside of family and medical providers to hold your child. I take this role very seriously, and am dedicated to creating a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for your baby. My newborn sessions are all baby-led. I will never compromise a baby’s safety or comfort for the sake of a photo. I also allow time during the session for baby to be resettled, comforted, and fed whenever necessary. You can trust that every moment captured is done so with the utmost care and consideration for your baby’s safety.

Newborn sessions typically take place within the first 3 weeks of your baby’s life. That's when babies are the sleepiest and therefore the most cooperative. That being said, if your child has surpassed this age, please reach out anyway! Sessions can be adjusted for babies to be photographed at any age.

Reach out any time during your pregnancy! We will select a tentative date based on your due date.

We will need to utilize a room with some open space, as I will be bringing a studio light, props, wraps, and other supplies. Please do not worry too much about cleaning your house! If we will be taking photos with parents and/ or siblings, you can start thinking of where in the home you’d like those taken, and then tidy up that area. Most people use their living room couch, baby’s nursery, or pick a light-colored wall as a backdrop.

Try to give baby lots of awake time in the hour leading up to the session, and if possible, wait until I arrive to give a full feed. I also would recommend bumping the thermostat up that morning or prepping the room with a space heater to keep baby warm and comfortable. Keep an extra pacifier handy as well!

Dress baby in a zip-up pajamas, so he/she will be easy to undress. For parents and siblings I recommend wearing something comfortable and simple! Try to avoid labels or patterns. Neutral colors always photograph beautifully.
